Czech designer Eliška Lhotská graduated was a Fine Arts major. She started her artistic career focusing on conceptual jewelry; creating a jewelry collection made from sourdough bread (yes you read that right!).
When missing home and all its senses including the smell and texture of fresh bread from the oven, Eliška was inspired to make a collection that would hold these memories close to her everyday. New Archeology is a jewelry collection for which even a thing as simple as a slice of bread needs to be cast in metal and thus preserved for the long-term future.
Each piece of sourdough is carefully molded into a simple, organic-shape and then cast in metal. The piece of jewelry is a nostalgic symbol, reminding us of moments which we might otherwise have forgotten.
